Get engaged and make a point

In late 2008 a consultation process was started to identify and discuss a range of key issues seen as fundamental for the development a Training Packages and other VET products for the 21st Century.

This project, initiated via a joint National Quality Council (NQC) and Council of Australian Governments (COAG) committee, represents a convergence of the COAG workforce participation and productivity agenda and NQC work to identify improvements to Training Packages and nationally recognised vocational education and training (VET) qualifications. Thanks again to all of those who have contributed to this year’s eScan.

Progress on the VET in schools project is well underway. We have finished contacting stakeholders in most states and the database of known school projects is nearing completion. Further consultation with schools will be carried out by phone in the coming weeks.

Work continues on our Flexible Delivery in T&L project. The review of relevant reports and other literature is progressing. A number of programs that have been developed by both public and private RTOs in all states have been identified for further investigation. Our aim is to analyse the characteristics of successful programs and modes of delivery and assessment.

For further information about any of these projects please contact Amanda Thomas on 02 6163 7227 or by email amanda@tlisc.com.au.
