The Transport and Logistics Skills Council (TLISC) undertakes strategic projects that assist in the continuous improvement of the Vocational Education System in meeting industry and government needs.                

Strategic Projects are primarily funded by the Department of Education Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), State Governments or by the Skills Council.  Most projects are acquired through competitive submissions.

VET in Schools Resource Kit

A Resource Kit, containing many learning activities will assist RTOs and Schools in delivering the Certificate II in Transport and Logistics (Warehousing) to students enrolled in an Australian School Based Apprenticeship or VET in Schools program.

Maritime Training Resources

Development of learning and assessment resources to support the delivery of qualifications in the Martime sector.


Competency Skills Builder

Funded by DEEWR   -  Available June 2010

TLISC will build an electronic resource (available through the website) to assist industry mangers and supervisors and RTOs to select an appropriate qualification and units of competency.


Diploma of Logistics (WA)

Funded by DETWA  -  Available June 2010

TLISC will develop a Delivery Strategy, Support Resources and facilitate professional development workshop for RTOs.  The aim is increase the uptake of the Diploma in WA.


Tow Truck Operators (NSW)

Funded by NSW RTA   

Development of Learning and Assessment Resources for the delivery of four units of competency for Tow Truck Operators in NSW.


GreenSkills Emerging Roles

Funded by DEEWR

TLISC with the National Centre for Sustainability are undertaking research into emerging roles and current and future skill requirements.  A report will detail recommendations for inclusions in the transport and logistics and warehousing qualifications.


GreenSkills NSW

Funded by DETNSW

The NSW Industry Training Board and TLISC will research locations, RTOs and units of competency for recommendation to the NSW government on skill development for drivers and supervisor in the Road Transport sector.


Professional Development of Workplace Trainers

Funded by DEEWR

TLISC will develop a strategy for the development RTO and workplace trainers in the skills and knowledge that trainers and assessors need to provide appropriate instruction and assessment to learners with language, literacy and numeracy needs within the transport and logistics sector.
