Licencing, regulatory and insurance issues remain the greatest barriers in employing young people in several sectors of the Industry. For example, in Road Transport the articulated licencing regulatory requirements ensure you are required to hold licences for 1-2 years before gaining a licence at the next level. Also, a majority of drivers need to be aged 25+ for insurance reasons. (But remember, students can do a Road Transport qualification- without driving). The T&L Industry is MORE than just Road Transport, it covers 6 other sectors. They are Aviation, Maritime, Stevedoring, Logistics Operations, Warehousing and Rail.
